Artistic Staff
Artistic Director Barry L. Sawyer has had a varied musical career as soloist, cantor and artistic director. He has studied performance and direction in Germany and the US and over the years has served as choir director in numerous churches throughout Lancaster County.
His previous positions include: Choirmaster at Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Grace Lutheran Church in Lancaster, Senior Choir Director at the Lititz Moravian Congregation, Director of the Ephrata Cloister Chorus, and Director of Music at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Lancaster.
Accompanist Michael Good began accompanying the Heritage Chorale in Fall of 2022. In addition to these responsibilities, Michael is the organist at Saint James Episcopal Church in downtown Lancaster.
He studied music at Eastern Mennonite University and more recently has studied with Mark Laubach, Sandor Kadar, and Wesley Parrott. Previous church positions include organist at All Saints Episcopal Church, Hanover and Saint Edward’s Episcopal Church, Lancaster; interim organist and choir director at Saint John’s Episcopal Church, Lancaster.
